Back from Cleveland...again (Part II)

Somehow I managed to take only 3 pictures the entire time I was in Cleveland. I meant to take more, but between lack of sleep and not being able to actually have my phone on set I was a bit scattered. It's kind of sad because I met some super fun people and didn't get last names so I can't even look them up on some social networking site.
Since I didn't take pictures I thought I'd give you all another of me as an extremely attractive mermaid.

As I mentioned before filming was somewhat brutal. None of the extras really knew what we were doing at any given time and it didn't really seem like the crew did either. Which I understand. You have about 20 people who are in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly and everyone is where they are supposed to be. These 20 people all have to be on the exact same page at all times. Guess what: it isn't going to happen.

So chaos ensued and we extra folk just tried to get along and get to where we needed to get.
It was probably one of the most things I've ever done. I was all alone and it forced me to meet some new people. All of which were hilarious and interesting. I was rarely not entertained.

The celebrities I saw:
-Scarlett Johannsen. Two of my companions kept referring to her as Scar Jo.

- Chris Evans. I had just written a review about how Captain America didn't impress me, so I was actually a little ashamed. And yes, I'm aware Chris Evans hasn't been haunted over my words, but it still felt weird. I mean he's a person who is in movies. A movie with Joss Whedon! I'm a girl who was in a few plays in high school, and a short film here and there since. No self-pity. Just an observation.

- The guy who plays Loki. I can't remember his name. When I saw him I felt bad for not having seen Thor. He was really nice and funny. Every time he made a joke, I would laugh and then feel ashamed because I didn't want to be a girl who laughs at anything some celebrity says. I know, I'm insane.

Those were the only actors from the film I saw. No Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, or Jeremy Renner like I was hoping. Oh well can't be too greedy cus after all I did get to see:

JOSS WHEDON!

I admit I got a a little teary eyed like a big weirdo who sees someone they've never met and cries like they've found a long lost relative.
But it's JOSS WHEDON! I kept thinking of things I could say like, 'So am I terrified enough? Do you want me cry? What should my reaction be?'. I wanted him to direct me. I wanted him to go 'The girl who was supposed to get saved in this scene hasn't showed up yet. We need a new one.' Then he would point at me and pull me from the crowd and tell me what my line would be and how to deliver it.
But for now I'll just have to keep building my skill and resume. Like some lame-o who doesn't get discovered after two days of being on a major motion picture set.
They actually had signs in the extras holding area that asked us to not talk to the actors. Which I understand because if 400 people are trying to make small talk with you you're just not going to be able to do your job, but it still made me feel like a child.

My call time was at 4 p.m. So naturally I didn't get off the clock until 6:30 a.m.
I don't know what i was thinking it would be like but I definitely wasn't thinking a 14 hour day. Not that I'm complaining. Each of those hours was delightful... except for the last hour. At that point I was slightly cranky so when a guy tried to cut in the line to check out I told him off. I know soooo bad ass.

They did provide us with plenty of food. Something I'm always very appreciative of. If there is one thing I enjoy, it's being well fed. You haven't seen me cranky until you've seen me deprived of a meal.
One choice item on the menu: Ruffles Sour Cream and Cheddar chips.
 BRILLIANT!

The first night we actually sat in holding for five hours. Still got paid and everything. But at that point I was getting paid to study my medical terminology flash cards. You'd think I'd be coming up with brilliant ways to sneak off and make Joss Whedon notice me or even just sit and write about all the things I wanted on my demo reel.
But no. Just sat and studied. It was the least I could do for the schooling that I was blowing off. And I mean the least. I had a test the week after I got back and got my ass kicked.
I guess I mainly just tried to read while I talked to some awesome coworkers.

I sincerely wish this had been a better post. Haha Part I probably should've been part II it was far better.

Oh well. I hope you all weren't too disappointed. I've got tons of great things coming up. Like the new fall bracket! It's an idea in the works that puts all the new fall shows against each other to get the season's best show.

And I have not forgotten about the poll I created while on vacation. For the two people who voted, just know that it'll be well worth the wait!

Creating onward,
E.M.G.
